Thank you for visiting Thorsdalen Smyth Architects. My name is Dermot Smyth, and I am the founder and director of Thorsdalen Smyth Architects. After more than 18 years working with architectural practices both in Ireland and the UK, I set up my own architectural practice here in Dublin, specialising in residential design.

Owning and running the practice has allowed me the freedom to work directly with my clients, providing an enthusiastic, hands on and flexible approach on every project. I am acutely aware that each project, no matter how big or small, is a major undertaking, and is often the single biggest investment a client will make, second only to a house purchase.

 

That is why all my clients can expect a close working relationship throughout their project. To make the process of design easy and enjoyable for my clients, the practice uses the latest in 3D software. This allows me to provide 3D rendered images and fly throughs as standard on all projects. This is far superior to standard 2D drawings, allowing each client to fully visualise the design.

I am also a certified Passive House consultant. With the drive towards a more sustainable future, the expertise gained from Passive House can be applied to all projects.
